For optimal screw installation, we recommend using a wax or grease on the threads to prevent stripping when going into new or hard materials. While most of the screws in our kits feature a socket head design, some smaller-diameter screws (2mm and 2-56" diameter) remain in a phillips-head configuration for increased strength, as determined by our field testing. This may include certain chassis and differential screws.

It's important to note that our kits do not include any machined collared screws or screw pins (pins with threads on the end). Additionally, Traxxas flat cap screws (such as 3931/4859) are patent-pending and have been replaced in our kits with the correct-diameter button heads and/or low-profile cap screws, depending on the specific location.

To find the correct screw locations, refer to the manuals or schematics available on the vehicle manufacturer's website, which will provide details on screw type and placement. If you're in the process of a rebuild or repair, the removal and replacement method can also be used.
